With over 10 years of experience working on both residential and commercial design, Maryam is an experienced Interior Designer with a strong background in both interior and architectural detailed drawings. She has extensive knowledge in internal hard finishes, FF&E specialization, and supplier communications across local, European, and North American markets. Her previous roles have included time at Lawson Robb, London and International Design Associates, and a significant tenure at Gulf House Engineering. Maryam holds an Interior Design Degree from KLC School of Design and a BA in Graphic Design from the University of the Arts, London.

Founded in 2018, Forma Design Studio has successfully designed and executed a diverse range of residential, commercial, private VIP, development projects, all adhering to the highest standards of excellence.
The studio was established by Maryam Ali, who brings ten years of experience in the design field, having studied and worked in both London and Bahrain. With a vision to collaborate with likeminded professionals, Forma Design Studio focuses on creating bespoke and personalized solutions that redefine the approach to design in the Kingdom.
Our studio encompasses all aspects of interior design, including concept development, mood board creation, selection of hard finishes, soft furnishings, and decorative lighting design. We also possess extensive knowledge of international FF&E suppliers.
At Forma Design Studio, our value lies in our commitment to transparency with our clients. In 2020, the studio expanded its team to include architects and interior architects, enabling us to meet the growing demands of our clientele and manage projects from inception to completion effectively.
Janet is a seasoned architect with over 14 years of experience in architecture, interior design, and construction in the Middle East. Currently, she is the Lead Architect at Forma Design Studio, where she develops concept designs, troubleshoots issues during construction, and oversees project supervision. Her previous experience includes time at Mardi Architecture & Design, Intec Bahrain, Meinhardt MENA, WS Atkins, and MSCEB, where she gained extensive experience in design, site planning, and project management.
Sumaiya is an experienced Interior Designer specializing in luxury residential spaces. She excels in furniture curation, material procurement, and project coordination. Previously, she worked at RK Interiors, handling diverse residential projects and enhancing brand presence through detailed drawings and 3D visualizations. Her earlier roles include Architectural Assistant at Middle East Architects and Architectural & Interior Design Assistant at Pranav Mantraa Studios, where she focused on innovative planning, design, and on-site supervision. Sumaiya holds a BA in Architecture from McGan’s Ooty School of Architecture and is a LEED Green Associate
Thomas is an experienced Project Manager with over 15 years in residential, retail, and hospitality interior fit-outs. Currently at Forma Design Studio, he oversees project life cycles, technical reviews, and financial management. Previously, he led award-winning projects at Ammar Basheir Creative Studio and managed over 50 projects across Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait with Chalhoub Group. His early career includes roles at North Woods Construction and Andrew Wallace Architects, focusing on project planning, resource allocation, and site supervision.
Waleed Ali is an investment and real estate professional with 16 years of experience in investments, real estate development, construction, asset management, and project turnaround. He provides commercial and strategic support to Forma Design Studio and its projects.
Dana is an Interior Designer with a background in commercial and residential design. Currently at Forma Design Studio, she creates multimedia content, manages social media, and collaborates on design concepts. Previously, she was the Lead Interior Designer at Woodpecker Joinery, overseeing furniture and fit-out design. At UCO Engineering, she managed showroom displays and office redesigns. Dana also has experience as an Events Officer at Bahrain International Circuit, handling event procedures and client relations. She holds a BA in Commercial Interior Design from Northumbria University.
